For parents, trying to navigate the educational system for kids with needs that don’t necessarily fit the standard mold can be a daunting task. You want the best for your kids, and knowing how to accomplish that within the early intervention and educational systems can be tricky, tiresome, and sometimes downright frustrating. Don’t worry. A special education advocate can come alongside parents to help you clearly define your child’s needs and goals and speak for your kids. We can come with you to meetings, assist you in understanding your rights, and help you get the free and appropriate public education to which our kids are entitled. I truly believe families benefit overall from having an understanding professional to guide them through the process of making sure their child’s needs are met.  Caring for a loved one with differing needs can be uniquely challenging – challenging in ways that others cannot fully understand. Getting the support you need to be certain your child is progressing and successful is crucial.

I’m a special education advocate. I chose advocacy because when my own children needed help, I had no choice but to learn the system myself. Now I also use that experience, knowledge, and training to stand with other families who need that same help.
